FIRST: For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.  The FIRST program strives to promote STEM through Robotics, with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through high school.  FIRST has four different programs, which are separated by grade levels.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JUNIOR (JR. FLL)
The Jr. FLL program is for kids ages six to ten, who are introduced to the concepts of STEM  by building robots with LEGO pieces. 

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL)
FLL members are in Fourth through Eighth grade, and research real-world problems while brainstorming solutions to build LEGO robots.

FIRST TECH CHALLENGE (FTC)
FTC teams are challenged to build robots in head-to-head competitions.  FTC members are in grades seven to twelve.

FIRST ROBOTICS CHALLENGE (FRC)
FRC teams are composed of high school students, grades nine through twelve. Members machine their own parts to build functioning robots.
